Finally, the much awaited film has come and this is the debut venture of Naga Chaitanya. The film also marks the debut of Karthika and this was slated to be a proper youth entertainer. How true has it been to the pre-release talk, let us see.
Josh Movie Story:-
Satya (Naga Chaitanya) is a young lad in Vizag who suddenly says to his parents that he wants to quit college studies and moves to Hyderabad.here, he comes to the MGM college which is known for its bad environment and a sequence of events happen which get him in conflict with the two major student gangs there. On the other hand, he has also got a love angle going with Nitya (Karthika), a teacher at school. The story takes a turn when the friction increases and Sathya decides to join the college. He does bring about some change but then there is a story behind this. Also, Satya is keen on ending the college’s ties with Durga Rao (JD). What is that story? Is Satya successful in his objective? All this forms the rest of the story.
The Performances:-
Naga Chaitanya is not successful in doing justice to his role on his debut. He requires lot of improvement in emoting. But His dialogue delivery was effective and so was his dance and body language, he might have to work on his comedy aspect though.
Karthika is tall, energetic and has a bubbly look but then she lacks the glamour or oomph like her mother.
Sunil is ok with his subtle comedy and Prakash Raj performed to his best in his son’s dead body scene. Brahmanandam is very weak in his role and he couldn’t make people laugh even once. Former Miss Femina runner up Shreya Dhanwanthari is also scene in a not so important role.
JD was elegant in his role, Harshavardhan was okay, Hema was standard,Sitara was simple and sweet. Others did their bit as required.
dialogue in the movie:-
“Naaku mamoolugaa message lu ivvadam ishtam undadhu. Neeku emaina ichchanu anipisthey teesuko”. This is Naga Chaitanya’s dialogue in the movie.
“College paatam cheppi pareeksha peduthundi. Kaani jeevitham pareeksha petti paatam chebuthundi..gunapaatam”
The Techniques:-
The Story, screenplay and direction by Vasu Varma is insufficient to garner the total attention of the audience. The element of preaching and the better-than-you syndrome makes the protagonist less credible. Most of the situations are contrived. The choice of JD unnecessarily brings in memories of Nagarjuna’s Shiva. The technical departments are good but the narration suffers from the inherent pitfalls in the plot and screenplay.
Analysis:-
On a whole, the movie has one and only big attraction- that is Naga Chaitanya, the son of Nagarjuna. And added glory is Dil Raju. Box office collections merely depend on these elements and they are the crowd pulling factors.
